De mogelijkheden binnen jouw opleiding rechten

It's your thing, your passion: law. You find it very interesting and want to learn more. But which study programs are there within the law? We have listed all the law programs at De Haagse Hogeschool for you.

Hbo law

This course helps you to develop further in the legal environment where you already work or where you would like to work. It prepares you to solve problems in legal practice and help people through a jungle of rules.

Some people think law school is stuffy. On the contrary! Sometimes you're on the edge of your seat to find out how a case turns out. How cool is it that after this program you can contribute to this?

International and European Law

This English-language program will teach you about the practice of law across borders. You will not only focus on Dutch law but also law beyond our borders. Especially in the city of peace and justice, this program offers many opportunities. Would you like to work at the UN International Court of Justice? Then this is a good preparatory course for you.

Hague bachelor in law

You can get your bachelor of law in The Hague at different levels. For example, you can choose to study for this bachelor's degree full-time at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. In a full-time study, you attend classes five days a week and last four years. Depending on your previous education, you can also complete a full-time study within three years.

There is also the dual law program. Here you work at a company that supplements your education. This gives you a steady income while you work toward your college degree.

You can also opt for a part-time study, in which you attend lectures one or two nights a week and spend about ten to fifteen hours on self-study. This takes an average of four years. An ideal option if you also want to work. You can also do this at The Hague University of Applied Sciences.

If you have your vwo diploma, you can get your bachelor's degree in three years instead of four. This saves a lot of time, but can also be difficult because you learn the same amount of material as if you were studying for four years.

Finally, within the bachelor's programs, you also have the choice of an associate degree. It is a recognized two-year college program. Many MBO students who want to obtain a college degree but do not want to study for another four years choose this option.

Hague master in law

You can take a master's program in law once you have completed your bachelor's degree. You don't always have to obtain a master's degree at the university. You can also do this at The Hague University of Applied Sciences. It is professionally oriented and has a direct link to practice. Furthermore, within this master's program, you can go in different directions. A full-time master's takes one year. With the part-time variation, you can work and learn simultaneously, just like a bachelor's. This program takes two years. Upon completion, you will receive your master's degree and be able to solve complex issues that organizations face.

Professional course

Finally, you have the practice-oriented course at the hbo level: the professional course. Here you are trained to (better) master a specific subject. You can register if you have at least a college education. Many participants who choose this course are older and would like to learn something more. This course takes several months to a maximum of a year. If you complete the course, you will receive a certificate or a recognized post-hbo diploma.
