Zig Zag Boulders, a place in the Leidschenveen-Ypenburg district where everyone can get moving
The first Zig Zag Boulders in The Hague are located on Henk Kompagnelaan in Leidschenveen. The public climbing and exercise equipment is part of a sports and play area that local residents can use for free. In addition to the boulders, there is a basketball court, a swing, a climbing frame, and other play facilities.

Exercise for free in your own neighborhood
The Zig Zag Boulders were supplied by BOAS Speeltoestellen, commissioned by the Leidschenveen-Ypenburg district, Municipality of The Hague. Carlo Haveman van BOAS explains that it is really intended for use in public spaces. No membership, reservation, or entrance fee is required. Anyone from the neighborhood can stop by and discover for themselves what is possible on the device.
Climbing the boulders requires strength, balance, and finding your own route. As a result, children can use the equipment in a different way each time. The boulders thus form a challenging addition to the existing sports and play facilities on Henk Kompagnelaan.
Also for older children
Many playgrounds are primarily aimed at young children. As children get older, play equipment often offers less of a challenge. The Zig Zag Boulders, however, are also interesting for older children and teenagers, while younger children can use them at their own level.
This creates an additional opportunity to be active on a relatively small surface area. People of different ages can play and move side by side.
