From vast dunes in Kijkduin, green parks and forests to cozy neighborhoods such as Waldeck, Houtwijk and the historic center: that is the Loosduinen district. Loosduinen is undergoing rapid development and there is room for new initiatives. However, the village character is being preserved.

Play Boat Medusa stands on Kijkduin, in the Loosduinen district. A familiar spot on the coast where children can climb, run, and let their imaginations run wild. The play boat has been a recognizable part of the promenade for generations and, following renovation, is once again fully ready for the future.
BuurThuis Houtwijk has grown into a regular meeting place in the neighborhood. Every second and fourth Wednesday of the month, local residents gather in the SV Houtwijk clubhouse for a cup of coffee or tea, a game, music, or simply a good conversation. What started as a small initiative has now become a valuable place for meeting and connection, especially for older residents in the neighborhood.
Last year, the Houtwijk neighborhood council, together with the new shopkeepers' association of the Houtwijk shopping center, organized a fantastic sustainable market! Featuring wonderful initiatives such as custom-printing a broken part with a 3D printer, but also information about waste, second-hand items, and making Happy Stones!
