Duvan Ekinci has been a youth worker at the Wijks Foundation in the beautiful Leidschenveen-Ypenburg district for sixteen years. Day in, day out, he dedicates himself to young people in the neighborhood, and he does so with visible joy and pride. "I'm incredibly proud of Marcino Poot and Seydi Burunacik," he says. "They organized a fantastic neighborhood festival at the most beautiful community center in the Netherlands: Het Plekje in Leidschenveen."
The neighborhood came together for a day full of energy, music, and connection. "It was truly a celebration for all ages," says Duvan. "Everyone from Leidschenveen was welcome, and a total of 230 people showed up. There was plenty to do: sports, food, drinks, music. And to top it all off, The Hague icon Chico performed."
For Duvan, it was more than just a successful event. "What I find especially special is that two young guys like Marcino and Seydi pulled this off all on their own. That's inspiring for other young people. I'm incredibly proud of them. They're an example to the rest of the youth in Leidschenveen."
