In the Bieremapark in the Leidschenveen-Ypenburg district, you will find an inclusive nature playground where children of all ages can play together. From climbing and scrambling to water and nature, the playground in Ypenburg offers plenty of room for adventure and discovery. What makes this place special is that accessibility was consciously considered, so that children with disabilities can also participate.
The playground shows how a place in the neighborhood fosters encounter and connection. For Tim and Subaen Is that exactly what makes this place so special? Tim lives around the corner and comes here almost every day. 'You can play here with small and big children, and there is a lot of nature.'

The playground was developed in response to a desire from residents to make Bieremapark more attractive. Initiator Johan Molenkamp collaborated with children from the neighborhood to shape this place. 'You can play football, climb, clamber, and play with water here. The children love it.' By designing it together with the neighborhood, the playground aligns well with what children really enjoy.
Noëlli, Maria & Valentina They collaborated and contributed ideas for the playground. They did this together with other children from the daycare and the Youth Council. The girls especially like that you can play here with friends, but also with children of all ages. The combination of lots of greenery, flowers, and challenging play elements, such as climbing, makes the playground the place to be for them.
Because the playground in Bieremapark is an inclusive playground, it distinguishes itself from other 'ordinary' playgrounds. The play areas are designed so that everyone can participate, regardless of physical abilities.
According to Petra Kuiper, who contributed to the playground, ensures that makes for something special:
The inclusive elements are subtly incorporated, allowing children to play together without differences taking center stage.
The playground attracts not only residents from the neighborhood but also visitors from outside. It has become a place where people meet and where children play together. 'This creates a sense of connection within the neighborhood, but also beyond.'
Johan, Petra and the young children are visibly proud of it.
The inclusive playground in Bieremapark shows what is possible when residents, designers, and the municipality work together.
The result is a place where children can develop, where families come together, and where play is accessible to everyone. Within Nieuw70, this is an example of how inclusivity and community come together in a place that strengthens the neighborhood.
