Arising from a need for encounter
Initiator Jamila Choukoud saw that there was a need in the neighborhood for a place where parents and children could come together in an accessible way.
Mini & Maxi Café was founded as a place where parents not only meet each other, but also where they can share experiences, ask questions, and grow up together as a community.
A place for parents and children
The initiative has an impact on both parents and children. Children learn to play and explore together, while parents get to know each other better. Many mothers also meet up outside the café, creating lasting connections.
In addition, more and more people from other parts of the Escamp district and The Hague are finding their way to the café. As a result, Mini & Maxi Café is growing into more than just a neighborhood initiative.

What makes Mini & Maxi Café special is that it is truly a community initiative. It is supported by parents from the neighborhood and originated from their needs and ideas.
Under the motto 'it takes a village to raise a child', a place has been created where children can play and grow, while parents find support and recognition in each other.
Within Nieuw70, Mini & Maxi Café is an example of how residents themselves are building a strong and connected neighborhood. Dilan and Jamila are visibly proud of it.
