Made in Laak

Made in Laak, a place in the Laak district where the neighborhood tells its own story.

In the Laak district, Made in Laak showcases everything the neighborhood has to offer. Stories from residents, entrepreneurs, initiatives, and organizations in the neighborhood are shared weekly via Instagram and LinkedIn. The platform puts the people behind Laak in the spotlight and shows the amount of creativity, talent, and commitment present.

Made in Laak shows how storytelling can contribute to pride and recognition in the neighborhood. For Nadia Et Talhaouy is that exactly why this initiative is so valuable. She sees how Laak is being made visible in a positive way, with stories from the residents themselves.

We are the sound of Laak.

Proud of Made in Laak

The real sound of Laak

Made in Laak was conceived by Firyal Hogervorst from the desire to bring the true story of the neighborhood to the surface. Not as a dissenting voice, but as the voice of Laak itself.

Nadège works as a content creator on the platform and sees how residents recognize themselves in the stories and images that are created.

Stories by and for residents

What makes Made in Laak special is that the platform is not only about Laak, but is also truly made by Laak. Residents, entrepreneurs, and organizations decide together which stories are told.

This creates a platform that stays close to the neighborhood. People recognize their own places, discover new initiatives, and see how much is happening in Laak.

Proud of the neighborhood

Made in Laak contributes to engagement and connectedness. By making stories visible, residents' sense of pride grows and a more positive image of the neighborhood emerges.

The platform shows that Laak is much more than the stories often told from the outside. Its strength lies precisely in the people who live, work, and build the neighborhood.

Proud of what is created together

Within Nieuw70, Made in Laak is an example of how residents themselves shape the story of their neighborhood. The initiative shows how imagery, stories, and recognition can contribute to pride, connection, and a strong local identity. Nadia en Nadège are visibly proud of it.
